We aim to keep our markets interesting with a variety of interesting and unique products.
Manly attracts over 8 million visitors every year, many of whom flock to the iconic town on the weekends. Established in 1997, Manly Marketplace operates every weekend (weather dependent), and on most public holidays. Stallholders can apply to exhibit on either Saturday, Sunday, or both days, on any given weekend.
General stallholder information is outlined below. Please refer to the Market Regulations page for a full outline of Manly Marketplace policies.
What can I sell?
Manly Marketplace strives to showcase unique art, design and fashion that supports new and emerging designers and business people.
All stall holders will be vetted prior to stall approval for product suitability, with preference given to local, and handcrafted products. Please note we are currently not accepting jewellery, candles, ladies fashion, bags or swimwear.

Stall equipment and hire
Stallholders may provide their own equipment, or hire it from market management. Stall presentation must be of the highest standard, and visual merchandising creativity is encouraged.
- Tables: 1.83cm long, 76cm wide and 74cm high (tables measuring 183 x 107 x 80 may also be used)
- Cloths: Floor length. Colour is at the stallholder’s discretion
- Umbrellas: Wooden structure with a white or off white cover, 2.7m diameter, with a heavy base (recommended: Shelta Como umbrella)
- Gazebo: 2.4m (best) or 3m square gazebo with a white or blue top (recommended: Oztrail Deluxe)
- Chair or stool
- Weather protection for yourself and products such as sandbags (wind), clear plastic sheeting (rain), and covers (sun)
Equipment hire fees:
- Umbrella: $10 per day
- Gazebo: $10 per day
- Table $5 per day
Trading days and weather
Manly Marketplace is open every Saturday, Sunday and on most public holidays (except ANZAC Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day) from 9am-4.30pm from May-August, with an extension to 9am-5pm from September-April.
Located outdoors, the market is subject to weather and is cancelled on bad weather days. If a trading day commences and the weather deteriorates, stallholders will be contacted by market management, should pack down need to occur.
No stallholder is to pack up and leave the markets before 5pm without approval from markets management.
The markets are occasionally relocated to the Manly beachfront for major events such as the Manly Jazz Festival in October and the Manly Food and Wine Festival in June. A separate application process is required for these dates.
The markets do not trade on ANZAC Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
Stallholder attendance and non-attendance
All bookings and cancellations must be communicated to market management by 5pm on the Thursday prior to exhibition. Cancellation fees apply for those that cancel outside this deadline.
Manly Marketplace is insured with Public Liability insurance to the value of $20m. Please note, this insurance does not indemnify the stallholder, and stallholders must own public and product liability insurance policy before exhibiting at the markets. We recommend My Market Insurance (www.mymarketinsurance.com.au).
No power or water is available to, nor shall be connected to, any stall. For safety reasons, no naked flames are permitted. Smoking in the markets area is not permitted.
Toilets are available for use at Manly Library, Market Lane. Please refrain from using the amenities at local pubs/hotels, especially The Hotel Steyne and the New Brighton.
Vehicles are not permitted to enter or drive within the market area at any time without permission from market management.
All rubbish, waste and packaging must be taken away with the stallholder – Council bins are not to be used for stallholder rubbish. Stallholders are not permitted to issue plastic bags to customers for any purchases.
All prepared food items must be packaged in sustainably-sourced (recycled and or bio-degradable) packaging.
Early Bird Parking is available in the Council Car Parks. Please ask for an application form to apply for a Parking Pass. The Quest Hotel offers all day parking for $30.
The Site Manager on duty has full responsibility for all operational decisions on the day of trading, including but not limited to, stall positioning, cancellations or early closings of the markets, product approval, and stallholder behaviour/removal.
Instructions must be adhered to on the day. Failure to do so may result in stallholder removal from the market and banning from future attendance.
The Site Manager can be contacted on 0435 388 410 during trading hours. Manly Marketplace manager, Mark Eymes, can be contacted on the same number during the week (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday).
Site Management is responsible for stall allocation and will guide stallholders to their position on the day. The Site Manager’s decision is final.
All boxes or setup equipment must be removed from the trading area during trade or hidden from view under tablecloths. Nothing is permitted outside of the designated stall area.
Arrival and departure:
Manly Marketplace is located in Sydney Road. If arriving by car, you can unload/load from Central Ave.
- Summer trading (September to April): arrive by 7.30am, ready to trade by 9am, stop trading at 5pm
- Winter trading (May to August): arrive by 8.00am, ready to trade by 9.30am, stop trading at 4.30pm.
All stall holders must vacate the markets no later than 60mins after closing time.
No stallholder is permitted to set-up or pack-down within the markets operational hours unless instruction is given from the Site Manager to vacate early due to foul weather.
No vehicular access is permitted onto Sydney Road (either via Henrietta Lane or Market Place without prior approval).
